Accel-KKR is a technology-focused private equity firm Accel-KKR focused on control investments in middle-market companies. The firm invests primarily in software and IT-enabled businesses. Accel-KKR has a particular focus on going-private transactions, divisional buyouts of larger companies and buyouts and recapitalizations of family-owned or closely-held private companies.

The firm was founded in February 2000 as a partnership between leading venture capital firm Accel Partners and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, one of the oldest and largest leveraged buyout firms.[1] Since inception, Accel-KKR has raised over $1 billion of investor commitments, including $600 million for its third fund which closed in September 2008.[2] Companies owned by Accel-KKR include:[3]
